St John's Youth

Due to the threat posed to our community by the COVID-19 virus, our Friday night Youth Group has ceased to operate in its usual format for the time being. Youth Church on Sunday is also temporarily on hold.

We are exploring ways to resume in Term 2.

Our mission: “To know Jesus and make Jesus known through His Word.”

Our vision: “To gather together and unite youth from all over Geelong, growing them in their knowledge and love of Jesus, and empowering them to go out and make a difference in this world.”

St Johns Youth is for grade 6 to year 12 youth in the Geelong area. It's on at St Johns Anglican Church (269 Roslyn Rd, Highton VIC 3216), 6-9PM Fridays during school term. We aim to provide a safe place for youth to hang out, get to know each other, learn about Jesus and life, be creative (games, art etc.), and generally just be youth, all centred around our mission and vision.

We have a large focus on leadership development, for our leaders but also our youth. All leaders have WWCC's and Police Checks, and undergo regular training in working with youth by staff at St Johns Anglican Church. Our leaders seek to live lives for Jesus, full of integrity, love, faith and hope. Our leaders this term are (in alphabetical order) Amanthi, Calvin, Chris, Emily, Hugo, James and Sarah.

We also run Youth Church on Sunday's during our two family services (10am and 5pm). These consist of Bible Studies on the same passage/ topic as the sermon, giving youth a chance to think through the Bible and life together. We have a few extra leaders to help run these each week during school term. For more info includng youth blogs, programs, photos etc. please see our youth website:
